Sir John Moore and Whitwick Saint John the Baptist girls football teams have completed a home and away fixture with honours even after the home and away legs.
Teams representing year 1 and 2, 3 and 4 and 5 and 6 played football of a very high standard and showed the sporting values of teamwork, determination and self belief. The matches at Sir John Moore were supported by measham welfare football club who are keen to support grass roots football in schools.
Sir John Moore headteacher Mrs Carpenter said " to see the girls playing at such a high level has been wonderful. Over the 6 different games all the girls have been a real credit to their schools."
Whitwick St. John's head of Pe Mr McMillan said " we are incredibly proud of our girls for showing such passion in victory and defeat. A massive thanks must also go to the Sir john Moore players who certainly know how to play in the right spirit."
Due to the demand for girls football in both schools, the home and away fixture is set to be an annual event in future.
