Health & Well Being
At Sir John Moore school, our aim is to support our pupils to grow healthily, safely and responsibly and to become active citizens who do their bit for society and for the environment.
We are a member of the 'Healthy Schools' initiative and have gained the silver award for 'Food for Life' scheme.
We have monthly school nurse drop in sessions, allowing parents to come in and chat with the school nurse. See the News and Events page for the dates.

Growth mindset. Resilience. Independence. Teamwork.
We’ve started the year with helping our pupils learn about understand the importance of having ‘G.R.I.T,’
G.R.I.T. is a new initiative for our school this year, helping pupils have a positive mind set about their learning and personal wellbeing, in and out of school.
We have started the new school term with a full day of G.R.I.T. activities led by Mr James Hilton, from the Art of Being Brilliant Company and we will continue to embed this positive mindset throughout this year.
Children have been taking part in tasks which require resilience and perseverance such as skateboarding, parkour and team work tasks, encouraging an ‘I can attitude’ or a ‘I will be able to do it soon… when I practice’ attitude.
We have also enlisted a new children’s counsellor, (Rachel Feaver) who will be running fun group sessions throughout the year based on GRIT.
