Our Parents: Partners in Learning at Sir John Moore C.E. Primary School

At Sir John Moore C.E. Primary School, we believe that education is most successful when parents, carers, and the school work together as a team. Parents are not just supporters but vital partners in shaping a nurturing and enriching learning environment for our pupils.

How We Work Together

  • Communication and Engagement: We keep parents informed through Dojo, newsletters, our website, and parent-teacher meetings. Our open-door policy means parents are always welcome to reach out to staff with questions, concerns, or suggestions. Please speak with your child's class teacher in the first instance as they are usually best placed to provide support.
  • Events and Workshops: Parents are invited to participate in school events, from worship assemblies to workshops, giving them a deeper insight into their child’s learning journey.
  • Celebrating Success: We love celebrating our pupils' achievements and regularly invite parents to events like our Celebration Assemblies to share in their child's successes.

Get Involved

  • Friends of Sir John Moore (PTA): Our active PTA group, the Friends of Sir John Moore, is at the heart of our school’s community spirit. They organise exciting events and fundraisers to support the school, and we encourage all parents to join in and make a difference.
  • Volunteering Opportunities: From helping in the classroom to supporting school trips or sharing your skills during projects, we value the contributions of our parents in creating memorable experiences for our pupils.

Supporting Your Child’s Learning

We provide parents with resources and guidance to support their child’s learning at home. Whether it's tips for reading together, helping with homework, or understanding the curriculum, we aim to empower parents to play an active role in their child’s education.

Building Strong Relationships

At Sir John Moore C.E. Primary School, we know that a strong partnership with parents creates a foundation for every child’s success. Together, we strive to provide the best possible opportunities for learning, personal growth, and community spirit.

We are grateful for the trust and collaboration of our parents and look forward to continuing this journey together. If you’d like to get more involved or have suggestions, we’d love to hear from you!
